Essam Taymour, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Gynecology and Obstetrics Medical Group in Long Beach, California. Dr. Taymour has been practicing since 1981 and is a fellow of the American College of OB/GYN. He has full privileges at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Greater Long Beach Surgery Center and Memorialcare Outpatient Surgery Center. Dr. Taymour uses his compassionate and personable manner to provide the most current and comprehensive care to women.
Providing a broad spectrum of women’s health services, Dr. Taymour focuses on obstetrical and laparoscopic services, robotic and pelvic reconstruction procedures, and an innovative, new radio-frequency ablative procedure for treating uterine fibroids called Acessa. Since the ‘80s, Dr. Taymour has championed minimally-invasive gynecological surgery and remains proactive in exploring the latest treatment options and technologies for women’s health.
A graduate of the University of Alexandria Medical School, Dr. Taymour completed his internship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York. He finished his residency through the OB/GYN program at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania and went into extended training during a fellowship in pelvic surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York.
Dr. Taymour has been honored by Long Beach Memorial Medical Center as Doctor of the Year in 2010. He is also the recipient of numerous awards for his work teaching residents at Long Beach Hospital. Dr. Taymour is happily married and father to three daughters. He is also a doting grandfather to his five grandchildren. Dr. Taymour speaks Arabic as well.
